BOY TROUBLE? GIRL TROUBLE? NO TROUBLE!

When John Lennon sang "All You Need Is Love," he was not necessarily lending his posthumous endorsement to the likes of John Grey ("Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus") and his Oprah-suckling brethren. But who's to say that, given the chance, John Lennon and Dr. Phil wouldn't have adored each other? What, you might ask, would their love child look like?

Here at the Institute of Psychomusicology, we believe we have the answer:

Dr. Phil + John Lennon = Dr. Tony

Dr. Tony is not a licenesed therapist. He's not technically a doctor, if you want to get picky about it. The important thing is, Dr. Tony has a high school diploma, and all the emotional scars that come with it. When Journey sang about lovin', touchin', and squeezin', Dr. Tony listened. Sometimes he listened with one arm on the wheel of his Chevrolet Caprice and the other arm around his best girl; sometimes he listened with the tears of fresh rejection pooling in every crevice of his acne-stricken face. Either way, he filed every romantic experience, the good and the bad, next to an ever-expanding mental encyclopedia of popular music. Before long, he began to see startling connections between the two. He also began writing and singing his own songs.

In 1992, Dr. Tony co-founded the Chicago indie pop band The Good, which generated more than its fair share of love for over a decade. But shortly after the turn of the century, Dr. Tony began to pour his energy into the project of a lifetime: the world's first one-man modern romantic relationship seminar musical-POP PSYCHOLOGY. Three runs and hundreds of satisfied customers later, POP PSYCHOLOGY is well on its way to becoming a full-scale phenomenon.

"Deeper than Deepak," and "heavier than Oprah," POP PSYCHOLOGY is not a concert. It's not a traditional theater show. It's ninety minutes of relentlessly interactive, toe-tapping sing-along therapy for lovers and loners, featuring a number of original healing compositions, plenty of overhead projections, and an unforgettable performance by the man who puts the "oh!" in love.

See POP PSYCHOLOGY and you will, among other things:

learn how to transform a profane shouting match with your partner into a snappy "Fight in the key of F"
heal the emotional scars from your teenage years with powerful group chants like "na na na na na na na na na na na"
watch two real people meet, fall in love, and ruin each other's lives in less than eight minutes
discover the musical litmus test that will help you distinguish a love "dud" from a love "dude"
save your marriage, make 'em love you again, or meet hot, newly available singles

With lots of crowd interaction and content adapted to the "issues" of a given audience, POP PSYCHOLOGY is a different show every night.

POP PSYCHOLOGY is written and performed by Rogers, who sings and plays guitar, accompanied by licensed piano masseuse Taylor Nash and bass string manipulator Tad Santos. The show is directed by Michael D. Starcevich.

Bring your (in)significant other or come utterly alone... you will not leave until you love.
